Proposal

Ailanthus altissima tree of heaven (T1) Fell to ground level, with stump treatment to prevent regrowth. Identification. Single mature specimen, marked T1 on the sketch plan at Appendix A. Trunk diameter 392mm measured at 1.5m above ground level (girth 1230mm). Approximate height 12?15 metres. Located in the north-eastern corner of the rear garden of 16 Trinity Gardens, approximately 5 metres from the rear elevation of the dwelling, with the trunk running at an angle along the eastern boundary wall. The adjoining properties to the east are owned by Trinity Homes and are not individually numbered; the land to the north is owned by the London Borough of Lambeth. 1. Felling. Fell to ground level by section dismantle, in accordance with BS 3998:2010. 2. Stump treatment. Treat the cut stump with a stem-delivered systemic herbicide plug (Ecoplug Max or equivalent). Application to follow felling immediately, and in any event within 48 hours. The product is applied at the manufacturer's rate for the measured stump diameter. The purpose is to kill the root system and prevent clonal suckering. There is no soil application, no foliar spray and no broadcast treatment anywhere on the site. The applicator will hold the relevant certificate of competence. 3. Disposal. All arisings to be removed from site by a registered waste carrier to a permitted facility. No material will be chipped, spread, composted or retained on site. 4. Stump. The stump will be left in situ following treatment. No stump grinding is proposed at this stage. Any grinding would follow after at least one full growing season, once the root system is confirmed dead. 5. Reasons. Not required for a conservation area notice, but provided for completeness: Ailanthus altissima is a species of special concern under retained EU Regulation , enforced through the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order 2019, listed 15 August 2019 and classified as not widely spread in England and Wales.
