2918/26/TPO - Works to a TPO Tree Within Consultation Period

Proposal

T1: Beech Tree - Reduce tree to standing monolith of 5-6m high, retained for wildlife habitat. Tree is infected with the decay pathogen Ganoderma spp, which in the advanced stages can cause major limb or truck failure. In light of a major limb breaking from this tree and its proximity to the barn, these works are requested. T2: Scots Pine - Remove tree. Tree uses Beech Tree for companion shelter and would be vulnerable to collapse following reduction of Beech Tree. Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 2

Radon affected area, class 6
An estimated 30% or more of homes reach the radon action level. Indicative for the 1 km square, which takes the highest class found in it; a radon test gives the answer for a building.
From the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency indicative atlas. Under building regulations, as the BRE guide BR 211 (2023) sets out, new buildings and extensions need basic radon protection from class 3 in England and Wales and from class 2 in Scotland, and full protection from class 5. The class at the site itself, from the detailed BGS map, decides which.
