26/03279/CAT - Application to fell/lop in Cons Area Awaiting decision

Proposal

Lime tree - Re-pollard to its established previous pollard points, removing the regrowth that has developed since the last pollarding in 2012. The work is intended to reinstate the trees former pollarded form following approximately 14 years without this maintenance. An application was submitted in autumn 2025 for a reduction of approximately 2 metres. However, following further consultation with several arborists during 2026, the recommendation has been to re-pollard the lime tree to its established previous pollard points. The proposed works have therefore been revised in light of this professional advice, with the intention of reinstating the trees previous management regime following the last pollarding in 2012. Checked on 15 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
