P/2026/1557 - Works to Trees in Conservation Area Withdrawn
Trees & landscaping

Proposal

Rear LHS T1 Yew Common x 1 (Taxus baccata) This 8m mature yew tree has grown unbalanced and is suppressing the trees beneath it. Suggested work: - reduce the right handside of the canopy 2.5m - reduce the height 2m and blend the right handside to make a flowing outline of canopy. Rear T8 Cherry x 1 (Prunus spp) This 16m mature cherry tree covered in ivy has been reduced in the past, but not for at least 7 years. The lateral branches are now touching the client's house. The trunk has severely damaged the boundary wall. The client is willing to rebuild the wall around the trunk, losing some of her land, in order to accommodate it. Before work begins on rebuilding the wall the trees needs reducing. This will slow root expansion and cut the growth back from the property. Suggested work: - full crown reduction - reduce the height 4.5m back to previous reduction points - reduce the lateral growth 2-3.5m back to previous reduction points, retaining shortened furnishing growth - thin internal growth by 15% - remove ivy to ground level Data via plota.co.uk

Site constraints 8

Flood zone 2, rivers and sea
Medium chance: between a 1 in 100 and 1 in 1,000 annual chance from rivers, or 1 in 200 to 1 in 1,000 from the sea. Any development here needs a flood risk assessment. Defences are not counted.
The Environment Agency flood map for planning. Homes in zone 3 must also pass the sequential test. Surface water flooding is a separate map.
Flood map ↗
Wellesley Road conservation area
Also Wellesley Road. Demolition needs planning permission and permitted development is restricted.
The council must give weight to preserving or enhancing the area's character and appearance. Not every council has published its boundaries as open data.
Article 4 direction
Dwellinghouses (C3) to small HMOs (C4) - borough-wide Article 4 Direction. Named permitted development rights are withdrawn here.
An Article 4 direction withdraws particular permitted development rights, so work that would normally need no application needs one here. Not every council has published its directions.
Air quality management area: Hounslow AQMA
The council has declared the area as failing an air quality objective.
Schemes that add traffic, parking or combustion plant are assessed against the area's action plan and may need an air quality assessment.
Council record ↗
National infrastructure project 1000 m away: Thames Tideway Tunnel
The site is 1000 m from the project boundary. Waste water treatment, decided. The project page says whether consent was granted.
Nationally significant infrastructure projects (power stations, electricity lines, pipelines, major roads and railways, harbours, airports and reservoirs) are consented by a Secretary of State under the Planning Act 2008, after an examination by the Planning Inspectorate, rather than by the council. The boundary is the one the Inspectorate consults on and can change as the scheme does. Projects are shown within 2 km of the site.

Also on the record
Local nature reserve 487 m away: Gunnersbury Triangle; Inside the Hounslow built-up area; Public transport access: PTAL 4 (good), TfL 2023, for the 100 m square.
Not affected
Not green belt · No listed building at the site · No scheduled monument at the site
