P26/S4554/TCA - Works to trees in CA Approved

Proposal

G1 - Avenue of 16 Tulip trees along driveway to Northwest to reduce height and lateral spread by 3-4m. Trees have been historically reduced, regrowth is now a substantial size and due to the timber characteristics of the species it is prudent to reduce to mitigate risk of failures. G2 - 4 X Willow pollards on Northern boundary to repollard to original templates - the pollards are lapsed and the regrowth is within falling distance of the adjacent road. G3 - 4 X Willow pollards in chicken enclosure to repollard to previous templates. T1 - Heavily decayed Sycamore to repollard to previous template (previously done ~2 years ago). T2 - Persian Ironwood to reduce over extended sections of upper canopy by up to 2m, back into crown profile for aesthetics. Data via plota.co.uk

Green belt: Oxford
Inappropriate development needs very special circumstances.
Green belt policy allows a short list of exceptions, such as limited extensions and replacement buildings. Anything else needs very special circumstances that clearly outweigh the harm. Some green belt land can count as grey belt, where it does not strongly serve the green belt's purposes. The council decides this in its green belt assessment or on each application, so we do not mark it here.

Checked on 16 October 2026. The pin for this application is the centre of its postcode rather than the building, so distances to nearby designations are measured from the postcode and can be out by the width of the postcode area. Historic England, the Environment Agency, Natural England, the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency (radon, contains BGS materials © UKRI) and council datasets, Open Government Licence. A boundary can run through a site and the council holds the definitive record: confirm with the council before relying on this.
