Description

There are two trees I wish to remove from my garden as follows: 1) Yew tree. This tree is reasonably juvenile, but has grown next to the boundary wall that I share with my neighbour at No 5 Rainbow Hill Terrace. The tree has contributed to a 20m section of the boundary wall collapsing which now needs to be reinstated as directed by the Heritage Officer. The contractor who will undertake the work to rebuild the wall has highlighted that it is impossible to rebuild the wall vertically on the boundary because of the position of the tree. In addition, the Tree Officer (who visited my garden to inspect the tree) has advised that the tree is continuing to grow (albeit slowly) and it will likely grow to three times its current size. I would therefore like to apply to remove the tree so that the boundary wall can be re-instated in line with the curtilage listing for the property. 2) Hawthorn tree. The tree appears to be mature. I applied to prune the tree a couple of years' ago. Unfortunately having pruned the tree it appears to have largely died. The trunk of this tree is right next to the boundary wall. As the tree has now largely died (this has been verified by a tree surgeon who visited our property to quote to remove the yew tree), I would like to apply to remove it at the same time that the yew tree is removed. We will plant two replacement trees, one a eucalyptus and the other a cherry blossom. The trees will be planted near to where the trees are removed, but away from the boundary wall.
