T1 Poplar: Carry out a controlled and proportionate reduction of regrowth arising from established historic pollard points. Works to comprise: Reduction of all secondary regrowth to leave approximately 2 to 3 metres of extension growth from the existing pollard heads Retention of the full historic pollard framework and all primary structural limbs Selective thinning of congested regrowth where necessary to maintain an even and stable crown structure Removal of dead, dying, damaged or crossing branches where present All pruning cuts to be undertaken to suitable growth points in strict accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations, avoiding the creation of large diameter wounds and preserving the integrity of the existing pollard heads. No cutting back to, or beyond, the established pollard points is proposed. Arboricultural Justification The subject tree exhibits clear evidence of historic pollarding, with established pollard heads and cyclical regrowth typical of managed Poplar species.
