Proposal
We are writing to seek consent for carefully considered maintenance works to a mature copper beech tree located at our property at 97 Cole Park Road, which is subject to a Tree Preservation Order. The proposed works are intended solely to preserve the long-term health, structural integrity, and amenity value of the tree. Specifically, we would like to undertake the following: A light crown reduction of approximately 15% to reduce end weight on extended limbs and improve the overall balance and resilience of the canopy. Raise crown to give 4m clearance. Removal of deadwood throughout the crown to minimise the risk of branch failure and to maintain good tree health. Selective crown thinning to improve air circulation and light penetration, thereby reducing wind resistance and supporting healthy growth. These works would be carried out sympathetically, in accordance with best arboricultural practice (BS3998), ensuring the natural shape and character of the tree are retained. The intention is not to significantly alter the appearance of the tree, but rather to proactively manage it in a way that supports its longevity and reduces the likelihood of future structural issues. We believe that this approach represents responsible stewardship of a protected tree. We would of course ensure that all works are undertaken by a suitably qualified and experienced tree surgeon. Please let us know if you require any further information or would like to arrange a site visit. Data via plota.co.uk
