Description

Proposed Works to Tree(s) Subject to TPO (TPO/NO6/1979) The tree identified within the above Tree Preservation Order is proposed for removal due to advanced decline associated with ash dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus). The tree is in a very poor physiological and structural condition, exhibiting significant dieback within the crown, extensive deadwood, and signs of progressive deterioration. It is now considered unsafe and poses a high risk of failure. The tree is situated adjacent to a car park and an area of regular pedestrian activity. It has already begun shedding limbs, creating a hazard to vehicles and members of the public. Given its condition and location, the likelihood of further branch failure or complete collapse is high. Proposed works: Sectional dismantling and complete removal of the tree to ground level. Removal to be carried out by a qualified and insured tree surgeon using appropriate safety measures. All arising debris to be removed from site and disposed of responsibly. Due to the extent of decline caused by ash dieback and the associated safety risks, remedial pruning is not considered a viable option. Removal is therefore the most appropriate course of action to mitigate immediate and future risk. Replant tree to replace.
