26/1216 - Tree Application Registered Application

Proposal

T1 - Beech: Take down to ground level largest Beech closet to the property. This Beech is the largest out of the 3 trees. It is blocking a lot of natural sunlight for this property and also the neighbours. T2 & T3 - Beech: Reduce in height by 4 meters and reduce sides by roughly 2 meters. By taking down the large Beech and reducing the remaining 2 we are hoping to keep amity value that these trees add to the area but maintain a more manageable size canopy which will hopefully be less problematic in the future. Site constraints 11

Air quality management area: Walsall AQMA
The council has declared the area as failing an air quality objective.
Schemes that add traffic, parking or combustion plant are assessed against the area's action plan and may need an air quality assessment.
Council record ↗
National nature reserve 95 m away: Sutton Park
Work nearby can need a habitats assessment.
Harm to a protected site is only accepted where there is no alternative and an overriding public interest.
Scheduled monument 98 m away: Medieval deerpark and other archaeological remains in Sutton Park
Its setting is a consideration for work nearby.
Nationally important archaeology protected by the Secretary of State. Work that affects the monument or its setting is rarely permitted.
Historic England ↗
Habitat network: Network Enhancement Zone 2
Where habitat is joined up enough to work as a network. Context, not a constraint on its own.
Radon affected area, class 5
An estimated 10 to 30% of homes reach the radon action level. Indicative for the 1 km square, which takes the highest class found in it; a radon test gives the answer for a building.
From the British Geological Survey and UK Health Security Agency indicative atlas. Under building regulations, as the BRE guide BR 211 (2023) sets out, new buildings and extensions need basic radon protection from class 3 in England and Wales and from class 2 in Scotland, and full protection from class 5. The class at the site itself, from the detailed BGS map, decides which.
UKHSA radon ↗
SSSI 95 m away: Sutton Park SSSI
Natural England may need consulting, depending on what is proposed.
Sites of special scientific interest are the best wildlife and geological sites in the country. Development likely to harm one is rarely permitted.
Registered park or garden 99 m away: Sutton Park
Its setting is a consideration for work nearby.
Registered parks and gardens, battlefields, world heritage sites and protected wrecks are designated heritage assets: harm needs clear and convincing justification.
