Security fencing and roof protection at The Bridge Centre, St Helens
Summary of planning committee decision
Decided by St Helens Planning Committee on 4 Nov 2025.
What was proposed
The application proposed a three-metre replacement fence, an automated gate, privacy screening and anti-climb panels around the roof.
“The application seeks planning permission to replace the existing 2-metre-high external fence around the property with an external fence measuring 3 metres high. The fencing will be sited along the southern and western boundary of the site and surrounding the tarmac multi-use games area (MUGA) to the western area of the site, which is the same position as the current fencing.”
“The application also includes the installation of an anti-climb system along the full perimeter of the roof of the application property; this will consist of black powder coated steel mesh panels mounted on wall brackets, installed on the existing roof perimeter. The mesh panels will project 0.6m from the edge of the roof at a 45-degree angle.”
