Why officers supported it

Officers supported the scheme because it benefits the local economy and community, uses a sustainable location and provides public benefits outweighing less than substantial heritage harm.

“The scheme would be a positive benefit for the economy and local community, and the location is sustainable.”

“There is less than substantial harm to heritage assets which is outweighed by the public benefits of the scheme, landscaping and planting will help to mitigate this harm and enhance the area around the building, and access and parking are acceptable.”

Officer report
