What officers recommended
Approval was recommended because the modern partition could be removed without harming historic fabric and the new wall would reinstate a former division.
“The wall which is proposed for removal is blockwork, so this will not involve the removal of historic fabric. The proposed new wall under the down-stand will reinstate an historic division, so this will be beneficial.”
“As the internal partition wall is modern, it is not considered that their removal would result in harm to the heritage asset. The creation of a new partition wall would be fire resistant and would reinstate a former partition so is considered to be an enhancement.”
