Committee discussion
Members discussed the meaning of vulnerable adults, information about care needs, parking, cycle storage, traffic, community benefits and the operational management plan.
“Councillor Holmes sought clarification on the definition of “vulnerable adults” which was not a planning or legal definition. The proposal was for a care home within use class C2, and the broad nature of the term could potentially cover individuals with mild dementia through to more complex needs, such as substance abuse. Councillor Holmes questioned whether the condition could be strengthened to specify more precisely the category of adults receiving respite care.”
“Councillor Kreidewolf commented that this was a quiet area and recent changes to the traffic layout on Radcliffe Drive had restricted school traffic which would further reduce traffic in the neighbourhood. Councillor Kreidewolf added that facilities of this nature should be located within the community they served, and this site was ideally situated.”
