What members debated
Members discussed additional housing, traffic, parking, play areas, density, dust and whether there were planning reasons to refuse the application.
“The Planning Team Leader reported that the County Council had assessed the impact of additional traffic on the Isaacson Road and Newmarket Road junction and determined that the current road layout was acceptable. She understood Members concerns regarding tandem parking but it was not contrary to the policies that the Council had to abide by. Play equipment was provided on site, it was located on the edge of green separation.”
“Cllr Martin Goodearl expressed concerns regarding the lack of parking for users of the sports field and the increase in the density of housing. However, he could not see any planning reasons to refuse the application and so would be voting to approve the application. The Strategic Planning and Development Management Manager explained that the masterplan showed that parking for the sports field was to the south and was never proposed to be on this application site.”
