The site is bordered by woodland and the River Calder to the northwest, Gawthorpe Hall to the northeast, Gawthorpe Hall Visitor car park to the southeast and a football pitch to the southwest. The application site is located within the Green Belt north of Padiham.”

The pitch is used by the various club teams (women’s, under 21’s under 18’s) to train and the stand would provide seating for the club technical personnel and coaching staff and any players not on the pitch.
