Summary of planning committee decision

2025/04544/PAApproved

No officer report was published for this decision; this summary is from the committee minutes.

The agent's points on impact and drainage

The applicant's agent asked the committee to note the smaller impact on a neighbouring property compared with the earlier consent, and raised concerns about frontage parking and the drainage strategy.

“The applicants agent has requested a few points from the report to be brought to the attention of the committee: • There was a previous consent for a care village and 844 is dealing with the impact upon the adjacent property at 19 Clarendon Road in terms of outlook and light. • The point the agent wants reinforced is the fact that the care village scheme was bigger than the application and therefore the impacts were greater on that property than the current application.”

Weight given to heritage harm

Officers said that whatever the level of harm to the Grade 2 listed building, great weight must still be given to that heritage harm.

“Irrespective of the level of harm to heritage assets, we have to give great weight to heritage harm and the MPPF is clear on that.”
