The surrounding area is predominantly commercial in nature, with Christchurch Road forming an important District Centre, as identified in the Bournemouth Local Plan Core Strategy (2012).”

“Although the area is dominated by car parks, there remains some significant vegetation, predominantly in the form of mature trees lining Hawkwood Road, as week as trees found in the rear gardens of the houses fronting Westby Road to the south which contribute to lessening the impact of large areas of hard surfacing.”
