The proposal is for redecoration of the listed building and reinstatement of a lost historic sign panel to the splayed corner. The works form part of a grant under the Aberystwyth Townscape Enhancement Scheme. Works comprise: - Redecoration of the rendered external elevations, the sashes and joinery, and the cast-iron gutters, rainwater pipes and sign brackets, retaining the building's current colour scheme: green to the render, cream to the sashes and joinery, and black to the ironwork. Listed building consent is sought for this colour scheme. A breathable paint system will be used and the scribed lines of the render will not be clogged. - Reinstatement of the non-illuminated decorative sign panel to the splayed corner, which the statutory list description records as lost. Its outline remains legible in the render, and its size, proportion, shape and lettering are taken from a surviving photograph of the building.
