Description
1.Tree and location • Location: https://what3words.com/hedge.copies.tolls Grey/green tree in bottom right corner of square. • Species: Ornamental silver weeping pear Pyrus salicifolia 'Pendula’ Description: 3m high, 150cm diameter canopy spread, 47cm trunk circumference (all measurements approx). 2. Proposed Works • Description: Complete removal (felling) to ground level and stump removal. 3. Justification for Removal The tree is in a significant state of decline, and its removal is necessary for the following reasons: • Health Status: The tree has a heartwood exposing/involving wound, roots to crown that is 7.5cm wide. This looks to have been caused by a mixture of disease and insect activity and in my opinion unrecoverable from. This has caused significant die back of crown underneath. 3. Justification for Removal Con. • Safety Concerns: Dropping branches and tree falling onto boundary wall or garden, as the garden is used by children and pets. Tree shape means it is carrying all of its weight at crown so it is top heavy. • Alternative Options: Hard cut back has been considered but is not deemed a viable long-term solution; due to the advanced stage of the damage/disease in the heart wood. 4. Replacement Planting To maintain the local amenity and canopy cover, my client proposes to plant a replacement tree: • Proposed Species: Ornamental Japanese cherry ‘Prunus serrulata’ • Proposed Location: Within 1 meter of the original location… Data via plota.co.uk
