T1 Lime (basal cavity) - Fell to ground level / Section dismantle Justification - T1 is a mature Lime tree exhibiting a significant basal cavity at the base of the main stem. The decay appears extensive and is likely to have compromised the structural integrity of the tree at its most critical load-bearing point. Basal defects of this nature present an increased risk of sudden and unpredictable failure, particularly under wind loading or saturated ground conditions. Due to the location of the defect at ground level, there is a high likelihood of whole tree failure rather than branch failure. Data via plota.co.uk
