T2 AND T3 ARE LONDON PLANE TREES LOCATED IN AMENITY SPACE AT END OF GARAGES AND ADJACENT TO ROAD. FURTHER DETAIL IN THE "SKETCH MAP OF AREA" DIAGRAM IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT TITLED "SKETCH PLAN_PP-14826973". REASON FOR THE WORK: T2 HAS GROWN TOO LARGE FOR WHERE IT IS PLANTED (ESTIMATED HEIGHT: 20M+). THE ROOTS ARE BREAKING THE GROUND BELOW, INCLUDING THE COBBLESTONE CONCRETE ORIGINALLY SET AROUND IT (SEE IMAGES 1-3 IN ATTACHED DOCUMENT TITLED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION_PP-14826973), AS WELL AS THE COUNCIL OWNED PAVEMENT SOUTH OF THE TREE (SEE IMAGES 6 AND 7). T2 MAY ALSO BE DAMAGING A GARDEN WALL SOUTH OF THE TREE, WHICH IS PRIVATE PROPERTY (SEE IMAGE 5). LASTLY, T2 IS BREAKING THE CONCRETE PAVEMENT NORTH OF THE TREE NEAR A MANHOLE (SEE IMAGES 1, 2, AND 8), WHICH COULD RISK DAMAGE TO INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE AREA. T3 HAS ALSO GROWN TOO LARGE FOR WHERE IT IS PLANTED (ESTIMATED HEIGHT: 20M+). SIMILAR TO T2, IT IS BREAKING THE GROUND BELOW, INCLUDING THE COBBLESTONE CONCRETE ORIGINALLY SET AROUND IT (SEE IMAGES 1-4), AS WELL AS THE COUNCIL OWNED PAVEMENT NORTH OF THE TREE (SEE IMAGES 4 AND 9). T3 HAS ALSO UPROOTED COBBLESTONE CONCRETE ADJACENT TO A GARAGE BELONGING TO 54 WILLMORE END (SEE IMAGES 4 AND 9). IF T3 CONTINUES TO GROW IT COULD RISK DAMAGING THIS PRIVATE PROPERTY. PROPOSAL FOR PLANTING REPLACEMENT TREE: TO RETAIN THE NATURAL BEAUTY PROVIDED BY TREES IN THE AREA, WHICH IS APPRECIATED BY THE APPLICANT AS A LONDON RESIDENT, WE ARE PROPOSING TO REPLACE T2 AND T3 WITH SMALLER AND MORE MANAGEABLE TREES. WE PROPOSE TO REPLACE THE T2 LONDON PLANE WITH AN APPLE BLOSSOM TREE. THIS SPECIES OF TREE TYPICALLY ONLY GROWS TO 3 - 6M, MAKING IT MORE MANAGEABLE FOR THE OWNERS OF THE PRIVATE LAND WHERE THE CURRENT TREES ARE PLANTED (54 WILLMORE END). IT ALSO RISKS LESS DAMAGE TO NEARBY PRIVATE AND COUNCIL OWNED PROPERTY. LASTLY, IT PROVIDES NATURAL BEAUTY TO THE AREA AS DEMONSTRATED BY OTHER AREAS IN THE MERTON COUNCIL AREA. WE PROPOSE TO REPLACE THE T3 LONDON PLANE WITH A CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE. THIS SPECIES OF TREE TYPICALLY ONLY GROWS TO 4.5 - 7.5M, MAKING IT MORE MANAGEABLE FOR THE OWNERS OF THE PRIVATE LAND WHERE THE CURRENT TREES ARE PLANTED (54 WILLMORE END). IT ALSO RISKS LESS DAMAGE TO NEARBY PRIVATE AND COUNCIL OWNED PROPERTY. LASTLY, IT PROVIDES NATURAL BEAUTY TO THE AREA AS DEMONSTRATED BY OTHER AREAS IN THE MERTON COUNCIL AREA.
