Description

Proposed Works Description The proposed works involve the reduction and ongoing management of a row of overgrown self-seeded sycamore trees within the property boundary. The trees have become excessively tall and dense and are now causing significant shading to the garden area. The intention is to reduce the row of sycamores to an approximate maintained height of 10 feet in order to: retain privacy screening between neighbouring properties, improve natural light into the garden, and allow for future manageable maintenance of the trees in a controlled manner. The works are intended as a long-term management approach rather than complete removal. In addition, three ivy-covered tree stumps are proposed to be removed to ground level. The stumps currently require ongoing unnecessary maintenance due to excessive ivy growth and occupy usable garden space. Their removal will improve the overall appearance and usability of the garden area while reducing future maintenance requirements. Further proposed works include a sympathetic 20% reduction of an approximately 6-foot Acer tree in order to maintain its shape and scale within the garden setting. A topiary yew hedge is also proposed to be trimmed and reshaped, as it has become overgrown due to a period of limited maintenance. The intention is to restore the hedge to a neat and manageable form while retaining its character and contribution to the garden. All works will be carried out carefully and sympathetically with consideration to the surrounding conservation area setting.
