Description
Stockport Council has received political approval to progress the design of new highways improvement scheme, funded by central governments City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement. The scheme includes the widening of Marple Road to the northwest to increase the carriageway and footway width, in order to extend the left turn lane onto Dooley Lane and improve the eastbound bus stop facilities. These works are subject to the approval of the Full Business Case by TfGM. Widening of the carriageway will require the removal of 14 and potential canopy lifting of 2 protected trees as detailed in the appended Arboricultural Impact Assessment.
