Tree: T17 Copper beech, Fagus sylvatica Purpurea Location: [front of property on fence boundary between 57 & 57A Mersey Road, inboard of the brick garden wall, approx 3m from Mersey Road roadway] Proposed works: T17 copper beech carry out a 20% crown thin, removing selected small-diameter secondary and tertiary branches evenly throughout the crown. Undertake minor crown balancing* by selectively pruning any over-extended or disproportionately weighted lateral growth, with cuts made back to suitable branch unions. No topping or lopping. No significant reduction in overall height or spread. Retain the trees natural form and amenity value. Works to be carried out in accordance with BS 3998.:2010 Tree Work Recommendations. * The tree was highlighted on the attached 2016 Tree Report as having a crown imbalance. This imbalance has persisted in the 10 years since, and would now benefit from minor rebalancing work. Reason for works: To reduce crown density and allow improved filtered light and air movement through the canopy while retaining the tree?s natural form and contribution to the conservation area.
