Overview The proposal relates to the SEUPB supported 'WICKET' Project at Drumaness Superkings Cricket Club, involving the installation of a modular building, associated site works, and improvements to support the club’s sporting, community, and cross-community programme. The development is intended to provide modern, gender-neutral changing facilities, toilets, and a multifunctional community hub to address current safeguarding, accessibility, and community-use deficits. 2. Elements Requiring Approval The proposal includes the installation of a modular structure to include three rooms: - Two gender-neutral changing rooms, toilets, and shower facilities (18 ft × 10 ft × 9.5 ft each) - A Community Hub to contain kitchen facilities to support community hub activities and club events. (18 ft × 20 ft × 9.5 ft) This building will form the core physical infrastructure needed to deliver safe, inclusive, and modern amenities for players, visitors, and community groups. The project also includes the following site works: - Construction of approximately 20m of new pathway to provide safe pedestrian access to the new building. - Installation of utility services (e.g., water, electricity, wastewater connections) to serve the modular building. 3. Proposed Usage: Sporting support facilities for cricket, including changing, toilets & showers. Serves youth, women’s, men’s cricket events. A multifunctional community hub providing a safe, shared space. The facilities will be open not only to club members but to local residents, community groups, and schools, supporting wider social and community development. 4. Access: Access remains via the existing entrance to the cricket grounds. The pathway will provide safe internal circulation between the pitch and the modular buildings, replacing the current unsafe practice of escorting young players across a public road to access toilets off-site.
