Description

Identification of Tree(s) and Description of Works 26/00004/TPO (T7) Plane (mature broadleaf tree) Reference: T1 (as marked on submitted sketch plan) Proposed Works: Reduce overhanging branches extending towards 28 West Avenue by approximately 2-3 metres to provide safe clearance from the property and highway Remove all dead, damaged, and structurally compromised branches Prune back branches in contact with telecommunications cables to provide safe clearance Remove any hollow or decayed limbs identified as high risk General crown tidy to remove hazardous material only (no excessive shaping) Reason for Works: The tree is in poor structural condition, with several large branches identified as hollow and showing signs of internal decay. Branches have already fallen on at least two occasions within the past two months, causing damage to two vehicles. In addition, overhanging branches have caused damage to roof tiles at the property. The tree currently overhangs the property and public area, presenting an ongoing risk to safety. Branches are also in direct contact with approximately seven telecommunications cables, and are observed to swing against them during wind, creating risk of damage and service disruption. This issue has been reported to the council multiple times over the last two months, however the condition remains unresolved and continues to pose a risk. The proposed works are therefore required to remove immediate hazards and make the tree safe, not to remove or harm the tree unnecessarily.
